2015 Toyota Tacoma
Americans love the pickup truck, because they can do almost anything. And since most of us have so much to do, a truck's Can-Do attitude fits right in. Toyota, the harbinger of American transportation, decided to give us a "right sized" truck several years ago. Bigger than a small truck, and smaller than a big truck, the current generation Toyota Tacoma can seat up to 5 people, tow 6,500 lbs, and accomplish most any task we ask of it. While it hasn't seen a significant redesign in quite some time, the midsize Toyota Tacoma remains as relevant as it was the day they first launched it.
Car journo's have been wanton to say that the 2015 Toyota Tacoma "feels dated". They contend that the "hard plastic" interior is behind the times, the 2015 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 drinks gas like a sailor on leave, and the cabin is "too noisy". But if you've ever owned an old Toyota truck, you recognize those complaints as part of the Tacoma's charm. This truck was designed to help you get stuff done, not coddle you in luxury. It feels unrefined, in a rugged sort of way. And that's what you want in a truck.
Since one-size-fits-all doesn't work in the truck world, the 2015 Toyota Tacoma is available in a myriad of configurations. There's a regular cab, an extended cab (2015 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab), a 4-door (2015 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab), a 5-foot or 6-foot bed (both feature Toyota's durable integrated composite "inner-bed"), 4-wheel drive or 2, 5-speed automatic or 6-speed manual, and your choice of 4-cylinders or 6 (2.7 liter - 159-hp / 4.0 liter - 236-hp). There's even several TRD off-road packages, TRD models, and a sport-themed version called the 2015 Toyota Tacoma X-Runner. If you can't find a Tacoma model to suit you, just go buy a car.
2015 Toyota Tacoma - What's New?
In Toyota's endless quest to "be all things to all people" they've begat a new luxury-themed Tacoma for 2015. Called the Limited Package, this gussied-up 2015 Toyota Tacoma features heated front sport seats, upholstered in a durable new fabric called SofTech. There's also metallic instrument panel trim, a leather steering wheel with audio control buttons, dual sunvisors, outfitted with mirrors and extenders, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror with an integrated backup camera display. On the outside, the Tacoma Limited gets chrome 18-inch wheels, and lots of other chrome trim (mirrors, grill surround etc.).
Power windows / door locks, bucket seats, and a center console now come standard on the 2015 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab & 2015 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab.
And while that may be the extent of the 2015 Toyota Tacoma changes, it was already pretty good the way it was. Sure, it's pricey, and the V6 is a little thirsty. But it's a Toyota truck, and that by itself, is enough to absolve it from any sins.
